Inter-provincial education conference to be held in
Islamabad on October 16
The Caretaker Federal Minister for Education and
Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi, has announced the convening of an
inter-provincial education conference in Islamabad on October 16. The purpose
of this conference is to formulate a national strategy aimed at enhancing the
education system throughout the country.
Madad Ali Sindhi made this announcement during the Academia Choice Award 2023 ceremony, which was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Private Institutions, Sindh Education and Literacy Department, by the All Sindh Private School and College Association to commemorate World Teachers' Day.

The conference will bring together education ministers from all provinces and key stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges confronting the education system in the nation and seek consensus-based solutions to address these issues.
Madad Ali Sindhi stressed the pivotal role of education in propelling the country towards progress and prosperity. He emphasized the need for federal and provincial governments to collaborate in formulating a reform agenda that focuses on improving the quality of education and expanding its accessibility to all citizens.
Highlighting the issues within the education sector, he emphasized the importance of enrolling the over 28 million out-of-school children, enhancing the quality of education and related infrastructure, incorporating modern teaching technologies, providing teacher training, and prioritizing education to align with developed nations.

Madad Ali Sindhi expressed the caretaker government's commitment to revamp the country's educational system and outlined his intention to create a comprehensive and forward-looking framework that can be adopted by the incoming elected government.
He also acknowledged the historical contributions of individuals who established educational institutions in Sindh during British rule, recognizing their significant role in the nation's development.
Justice (r) Maqbool Baqar, the Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister, emphasized the importance of education in the modern era and stated that a nation's progress takes place in the classroom. He underscored the significance of teachers in fostering a better world.
He stressed the need for a sound strategy for education and youth training and emphasized the importance of continuity, resilience, and practical steps to improve the education sector.
Sindh Caretaker Education Minister Rana Hussain addressed the global issue of teacher shortages, citing a UNESCO study predicting the need for 69 million new teachers worldwide by 2030. She urged teachers not only to assess students based on test scores but also to explore their capabilities and talents.

introduces new college admission policy
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, at the event, announced plans to name various parks and roads in the city after teachers who have made significant contributions to nation-building through education. He invited administrative officers to recommend the names of such teachers, with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation ready to honor them by naming schools, parks, roads, and other public places after them. Additionally,
awards were presented to teachers, educators, and social activists for their outstanding contributions to the education sector.
