Planning Minister calls for promoting critical thinking in students
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has called for revamping
the education system to promote critical thinking in students.
Speaking in Islamabad, Ahsan Iqbal said afresh comprehensive
curriculum would help produce analytical and creative minds to cope with the modern
day challenges.
The federal minister said in this era of knowledge economy,
intellectual capital and brain power determine the future of a nation.
The minister said the existing educational system does not
encourage observation and reasoning and even teachers discourage students to ask
questions in the classes.
He urged the education ministry to give proposals for
establishing a modern
teachers’ training centre.
