Planning Minister calls for revamping the education system

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Measures Prof. Ahsan Iqbal has
sought suggestions from education experts to establish a modern teacher
training institute in Islamabad.
Presiding
over a round table conference in Islamabad, he lamented that there had been no
change in the education system of the country in the last 50 years.
The Planning
Minister said that it is very important to harmonize the teacher training
system with the change in the curriculum and in this regard the teacher
training institute in Islamabad will be a model for the rest of the provinces.
Ahsan Iqbal
emphasized the need for immediate attention on four important things which
include curriculum reforms, teacher training, examinations and madrassa
reforms.
The Federal
Minister assured the participants that despite the financial crisis, the
Ministry of Planning is allocating funds for the project for this training
institute.
