Twenty thousand young engineers to get Rs. 40,000 monthly stipend
The government of
Pakistan will launch an internship program for engineers in which a monthly
stipend of Rs. 40,000 will be paid to them.
This was revealed by
Minister for Planning and Development while addressing the 56th Annual General
Meeting of Institution of Engineers Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday.
The program will
benefit around 20,000 engineers.
The Minister said the
government would promote the engineering sector and provide jobless engineers
facilities for self-employment. He said engineering sector plays a very crucial
role in any country's progress and it should be provided with all possible
resources.
The Planning Minister informed
that a budget worth Rs. 6.5 billion has been approved for five universities.
He said that a
decision has also been taken to set up an institution with the name of Dr.
Abdul Qadeer Khan.
