School for disadvantaged children of Islamabad opens with Turkish assistance
Ambassador
of Turkiye in Pakistan Dr Mehmet Paçacı on Thursday inaugurated a school titled
‘Star School’ for disadvantaged children of Mehrabadi area of Islamabad in
Sector G-12.
The
programme serves the most disadvantaged children in Islamabad with daily
healthy meals, mental health care, an Accelerated Learning Programme and a
variety of exciting activities. The intervention is also supported by JICA and
the ICT Administration.
Speaking
on the occasion, Ambassador of Turkiye commended the Pakistan Alliance for
Girls Education (PAGE), the Turkish Red Crescent and the Ministry of Federal
Education & Professional Training for joining hands for a noble cause.
Head of Delegation Turkish Red Crescent Mr Ibrahim Carlos, Additional Secretary Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, Director General Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Ikram Malik, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, representative of JICA, ICT Administration, and the Executive Director of PAGE Ms Fajer Rabia Pasha were present on the occasion.
The launching ceremony was also attended by team members of
the TRC and PAGE.
