Education-deprived
people to be located through GPS
The
Department of Literacy and the Benazir Income Support Programme have signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) to locate education-deprived adults and
children across Punjab through GPS.
The
signing ceremony in this regard was held in Lahore.
Speaking
on the occasion, Secretary Literacy Wajihaullah Kundi said, “To speed up the
process of providing education to the illiterate, living in backward areas of
the province, our teachers and mobilisers will be able to reach through the GPS
location”.
He
further informed that Department of Literacy has also launched a Teacher portal
that will facilitate the process of online recruitment along with registration
of teachers.
